Operation Ram offers Competitive Incentives to all Trades
Irving Oil is looking for skilled tradespeople to work on Operation Ram, the fall turnaround set to take place at the Saint John refinery, East Saint John terminal and Canaport Crude terminal in September.
The incentives to eligible workers of the 2023 fall campaign include early sign-on, sign-on, and retention incentives ranging from $1,000 to $2,000.
Incentives to all Trade Classifications
Workers eligible for incentives include General Foreman, Foreman, Journeyman and Apprentices employed by a contractor who is a signatory to a New Brunswick local building trade union.
Early Sign-On Incentive
A one-time, early sign-on incentive for eligible workers assigned to the fall turnaround or major outage will be given based on the date the referral document is submitted to the contractor.
Referral Date Receipt
Before and including August 12, 2023 – ($2,000 incentive)
August 13 – August 26, 2023 – ($1,500 incentive)
August 27 – September 9, 2023 – ($1,250 incentive)
Sign-On Incentive
A one-time, sign-on incentive for eligible workers assigned to the fall turnaround or major outage will be given based on the date the referral document is submitted to the contractor.
Referral Date Receipt
September 10 – November 3, 2023 – ($1,000 incentive)
Retention Incentive
To be eligible, workers must be at the sites on or before August 12, 2023, and remain working until September 17, 2023, or later. ($2,000 incentive)
Eligible workers may qualify for either retention, early sign-on or sign-on incentives. However, workers cannot qualify for more than one incentive.
Short-Term Conditions (site)
Short-term maintenance rates and overtime conditions will apply to all eligible workers at the sites, including eligible workers not assigned to the turnaround or major outage while operating under section 12.700 – 12.706 of the General Presidents Maintenance Agreement (“GPMA”).
Discretionary Reimbursements
— Travel reimbursement to workers assigned to the turnaround or major outage
— Living out allowance (LOA) to workers assigned to the turnaround or major outage
