Wade Logan began his career in the 1980s, working with the International Association of Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers through Local 110 located in Edmonton, Alberta. He was able to complete his apprenticeship, becoming a journeyman, before being promoted to foreman, general foreman, and then superintendent on many of the largest jobs in Alberta at the time.

In 2012, Wade was elected as Business Manager of Local 110 for a three-year term, while continuing to supervise projects in the Edmonton area until his appointment as International Vice President for Western Canada in 2019. Wade was subsequently re-elected the next year for a five-year term in 2020. After Wade’s appointment as an alternate for the GPMC | NMC committee, he regularly attended meetings and was elected as delegate for the GPMC | NMC in the spring of 2022.

The Benefits of Unionized Labour & GPMC | NMC

Wade believes that being able to represent and belong to a labour organization enables workers to present a united front on and off the jobsite, bargain collectively for improved wages and benefits, increase safety on the jobs, and enhance training. Wade is proud to take the concerns of members to local, provincial, and federal politicians to raise awareness of the benefits of Mechanical Insulation and its role in reducing our carbon footprint.

He views the GPMC | NMC as providing standardized agreements to all clients and contractors with a safe, productive workforce with the security of no strike and lockouts guaranteeing the continued maintenance of their sites. Wade feels that the GPMC also strives to work with contractors and clients to make it easy to work out any issues that arise.

The Next Generation of Skilled Labour is a Family Affair

Wade married his beautiful wife, Gloria, in 2020. Together, they have five wonderful adult children – Jessica, Chance, Haley, Louise, and Trenton. They have also been blessed with two adorable grandchildren, Ethan and Emma. Wade is quick to credit Gloria for her constant and unwavering support, as Wade found himself often on the road, traveling to work meetings to ensure that members were heard and represented.

He is also exceptionally proud that his own son, Chance, has followed in his own footsteps as he recently became a journeyman and received his Red Seal certification in the Insulation trade.

Trying to Go as Low as He Can (in Golf)

In his downtime, Wade enjoys date nights with Gloria, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. An avid golfer, he loves spending time at the golf course trying to improve his game, while trying to shoot a personal low round with his friends.
