Bursaries

$50,000 in Annual Support for Union Families

We award 25 bursaries of $2,000 each to help children of Building Trades Union members pursue their post-secondary education. It’s our way of investing in the next generation while supporting the families who build and maintain Canada.

Who Can Apply

To be eligible for the GPMC | NMC Bursary, applicants must:

  • Submit a complete application by the deadline
  • Be a dependent child or grandchild of a current GPMC | NMC member in good standing
  • Be enrolled in or accepted to a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada
  • Be pursuing a diploma, certificate, or degree program

Bursaries are awarded across Canada to reflect our national membership:

  • Western Canada: 3 bursaries
  • Atlantic Region: 2 bursaries
  • Quebec: 2 bursaries
  • Ontario: 3 bursaries

Applications open September 2026.

Recipients will be selected based on a random lottery following the contest deadline.
