Steven Weisman

Delegate – Carpenters & Millwrights

Steven Weisman is a lawyer who has practiced exclusively in union-side legal representation since he began his career and joined the Carpenters Union in 2022 as legal counsel, now as the Canadian District’s Director of Research and Special Programs. Steven was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario with brief stints at the University of Western Ontario for an undergraduate degree in International Relations and for a law degree at Western Law. He also holds a Master’s Degree in International Development from York University.

“I believe unionized labour is about membership, representation and transparency. A union is only as strong as its representation — its sole purpose is to serve and to protect the members and their interests. A union is a brotherhood and a sisterhood where all of its members work together for their common betterment. A unionized workforce means a workforce that is well trained, motivated and safe.”

Steven’s hobbies include boxing, studying Japanese (to speak with his Japanese nephews) and following the Toronto Maples Leafs.
